CASPER, Wyo —  Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Wyoming Department of Transportation have released details on a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred July 2 2020, on U.S. 16 near Buffalo.

Witness statements and evidence on scene indicated that 56-year-old Dave Hendley, a Wyoming resident, drove his Harley Davidson motorcycle drove across the centerline into oncoming traffic and collided with the fender of an oncoming GMC Sierra and the camper trailer it was pulling. The driver of the GMC stated he steered to the right to try and avoid a head-on collision. Evidence showed a front tire mark at the point of impact and no signs of the motorcycle braking or any other evasive actions.

Authorities believe Hendley may have been fatigued or asleep at the time of the accident, possibly due to a medical condition. He was not wearing a helmet. No one else was injured in the accident.
