As this year’s Delmarva Bike Week and OC BikeFest come to an end, roads have been relatively quiet, officials said.
However, earlier in the week, three major accidents were reported. Accidents occurred on Thursday, Sept. 14 and Friday, Sept. 15.
On Sept. 14, two accidents were reported in Maryland.
A 78-year-old Crisfield man was killed on a motorcycle after a collision with a pickup truck on Route 413 in Somerset County, Maryland State Police said.
Another fatal motorcycle accident occurred on westbound Route 50 east of Walston Switch after two motorcyclists collided, MSP said. One rider was treated for a serious leg injury by EMS personnel. The other rider involved in the crash died on the scene.
On Sept. 15, one crash was reported in Delaware.
Two motorcyclists from Newark, Delaware were ejected from their motorcycle after colliding with a Ford Expedition on Route 113 in Selbyville, Delaware State Police said. After being treated at the scene, the motorcyclists were flown to Christiana Hospital where they were admitted for serious injuries.
Delmarva Bike Week held events at Salisbury’s Arthur W. Perdue Stadium and Seaford’s Rommel Harley-Davidson. OC BikeFest held events on the Ocean City Inlet, Ocean City Convention Center, Ocean Stage and the Boardwalk Stage.
