Davenport man killed in motorcycle crash Saturday night

A Davenport man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday night, a Scott County Sheriff news release said.

Police responded to the call of the accident at the 23500 block of 115th Avenue, three miles south of Donahue, at about 7:04 p.m. An investigation into the accident revealed that Jeffery Garland Plies, 60, was traveling southbound on 115th Avenue when the 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle came upon an “S curve” and lost control, the news release claims.

Plies did not appear to have been wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, the news release added. Medical personnel attempted CPR on Plies upon arrival, but ultimately determined Plies was dead.

The accident remains under investigation.
