COLUMBIA, Mo. — Darrell Fisher, 55, of Columbia, Mo., passed away Thursday (June 14, 2018) in Columbia.
Darrell was born in St. Joseph, Mich., on April 25, 1963. He graduated from Mahomet-Seymour High School in 1981. He married Pamela White on Feb. 12, 2000, in Columbia, Mo. They became the proud parents of Amber in February 2001. He worked at various jobs throughout his life. Most recently, he worked for several years at Otscon before becoming an Uber and Lyft driver in April 2018. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
During his teenage years, he taught himself how to play the drums. He was a drummer for several bands in the Champaign-Urbana area. He spoke often of the fun times he had and the many people he met. On May 20, 2018, he performed for the last time as a drummer with Awakening Band at First Baptist Church.
In recent years, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a Harley Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed riding it for many miles around Mid-Missouri. His longest trip was from Columbia, Mo., to Champaign. He also enjoyed taking part in honoring our veterans by participating in the Honor Flight motorcycle escorts and standing flag lines when time permitted.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George Warren and Irma Lee.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Pamela Fisher, and daughter, Amber Fisher (Columbia, Mo.); mother, Betty McConkey (Wesley Chapel, Fla.); sister, Renee Fisher (Wesley Chapel, Fla.); mother- and father-in-law, Mike and Peggy White (Lebanon, Mo.); brother-in-law, Jim (Jean) White (Lebanon, Mo.); nieces, Heather and Jennifer Patten (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) and Mariter, Zephanie and Jasmine White (Lebanon, Mo.); aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1112 E. Broadway, Columbia, MO 65201, which will be immediately followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery.
