Car show winners during the Cumberland Community Day were:
The Best Car was Vicki Davis’ 1957 Chevy Corvette. The Best Truck was Kenny Hendershot’s 1970 Chevy K10 Pickup. The Best Motorcycle was Dale Eibel’s 2006 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. The Best Tractor was James Yerian’s 1948 John Deere B. The Best Custom was Clayton Brown’s 1957 Chevy Bellaire Sport Coupe. The Best of Show was Steve Hall’s 1939 Chevy Pickup. The Oldest Vehicle was Janeen Morland’s 1934 Ford Pickup. The vehicle coming the furthest distance was Mike Shilling’s 1964 Chevy Corvette. The Chief’s Choice was Tom Swonger’s 1934 Bantam Coupe. The People’s Choice was Zedrick and Kay Clark’s 2004 Chevy SSR.
Spencer Township Trustees Meet
Spencer Township Trustees met in regular session Aug. 21 and approved payment of $ 44,116.13 in bills.
Trustees discussed the audit report and cemetery lots. A motion was passed that all cemetery lots must be paid in full at the time of purchase.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Spencer Township Building.
Valley Grange 1586 will meet at noon Sept. 25. The grange will provide chicken, tableware and coffee. Bring sides, salads and desserts.
Cumberland Village Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the village building.
The Southeastern Ohio Join Solid Waste Management District recycling trailer will be available Tuesday and Wednesday at the Spencer Township Building.
Spencer Township Trustees and the Village of Cumberland will participate in the Guernsey County-wide trash clean-up Sept. 22-23. Collection sites and hours are to be announced.
A flu shot clinic by the Guernsey County Health Department will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Cumberland Fire Department.
A quilting group meets at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Euchre games are played from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays at the Chandlersville Community Building.
