A motorcyclist was injured Friday night, July 10, after a vehicle hit the brakes hard in front of him, causing the Harley-Davidson to rear-end the car.

The crash was reported at 5:27 p.m. on Highway 6.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported Leah L. Johnson, 35, Akeley, was driving a 2009 Mazda CX9 north on Highway 6, and thought she had to make a turn and hit the brakes hard, causing the motorcycle to hit the back of the car. The motorcycle hit the ditch and rolled. The driver, Nicholas D. Bratvold, 34, Zimmerman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. Johnson was not reported injured. She was wearing a seat belt.
