Cook off competition to benefit James House
COLONIAL HEIGHTS — The public is invited on Saturday, Sept. 23, to witness professional and amateur teams battle it out to claim the Judge’s Choice Award and People’s Choice Award at the first “Hogs for the House” cook off competition at Colonial Harley-Davidson on Temple Avenue.
The public is welcome to taste the results of the competition from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Entrance into the venue is free. Tasting tickets cost $ 10 and can be purchased online at thejameshouse.org/events or at the venue on the day of the event. Your voting ballot gives you one chance to vote for the People’s Choice winner – pick your favorite team! Results for both Judge’s and People’s Choice Awards will be announced at 3:40 p.m. Additional food will be available for purchase.
This family-friendly event will also feature live music by Southbound and Anderson Highway, Colonial Harley-Davidson’s Fall Open House, motorcycle service vendors, raffle prizes, and silent auction. Proceeds from the event will go to James House, a local nonprofit agency that provides support, advocacy, and education for people in the Greater Tri-Cities region affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking to empower them to become healthy, safe, and self-sufficient. All services are trauma-informed, cost-free, confidential, and available in both English and Spanish.
