Club organizing event to benefit two Odessa children who lost their mother this year

ODESSA — An Odessa woman lost her life early August of this year and left behind two young children, an 11-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl.

The children’s grandparents have taken on the responsibility of caring for them.

Unfortunately this unexpected event has placed a significant financial burden on the family.

This is exactly why MC Alternative, a riding club with members in Odessa has decided to lend a helping hand.

MC Alternative has put together a “riding” event for Saturday, October 28th where proceeds will benefit the children.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Legacy Harley Davidson where attendees will be able to register at a table.

After registration and a few other events all riders will drive together and meet up at Mr. Vapes in Midland where the event will conclude around 11:00 a.m.

Registration for riders will be $ 10 per driver, and an additional $ 5 per passenger.

Jimmie Grips, President of MC Alternative in Odessa tells us they welcome any vehicle such as cars, trucks, and motorcycles to ride alongside them in the event.

He states, “we want to help these children and their grandparents.”

T-shirts and raffle tickets will be sold during the event as well, t-shirts will cost $ 20 each, and, the winner of the raffle will take half of the earnings and the other half will go to the children.

The location of the event is 12100 W Hwy 80 E Odessa.
