Three distinctive motorbikes worth thousands of dollars were stolen from a locked shed during the weekend.
Taranaki police are seeking the public’s help after the thieves broke into an Eltham address overnight on Friday and took the keys to a shed on the property.
The shed contained three motorcycles: a 2010 Harley-Davidson Sportster, a 1995 Triumph Thunderbird and a 1954 BSA, along with a 1999 blue Mitsubishi Challenger 4×4.
Senior Sergeant Kyle Davie it was believed the Challenger was used to ferry the bikes from the address.
“They are fairly distinctive bikes,” Davie said.

The vehicle was found burnt out in Kiore, inland from Stratford, on Mohakau Rd, between Huiroa and Te Wera, about 8pm on Sunday.
Davie said police wanted to hear from anyone who saw the Challenger travelling between Eltham and Kiore during the weekend or had any information about the theft.
He encouraged anybody with details to contact their nearest police station or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
