Amarillo Police Say Alcohol is Factor in Motorcycle Wreck

On Thursday at 10:13 PM, officers responded to the 700 block of W 10th Ave on a motorcycle crash.

Officials say a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by a 46-year-old male, was eastbound on 10th in the left lane, attempting to make a U-turn. A 2009 Harley Davidson, driven by a 41-year-old male, attempted to pass the 2005 Harley Davidson on the left in that left lane. The 2009 Harley Davidson struck the 2005 Harley Davidson.

Both of the riders were taken to a local area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Neither driver was wearing a helmet.  Alcohol is a factor in the crash.

The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
