Amarillo – Amarillo Panhandle Humane Society was at Tripp Harley Davidson Sales to encourage people to foster or adopt animals.
In an effort to get these pets a forever home for the holidays, pets could be adopted for $ 25 including spay/neuter, microchip, and the first three rounds of shots.
The Amarillo Panhandle Humane Society decided to have the event at Tripp Harley Davidson Sales to bring pets and information to people who don’t normally visit the shelter.
“We have more animals in the shelter than we can adopt out,” volunteer, Laura Hume said. “One way we’re trying to alleviate the problem is to increase awareness of what we’re doing to the community.”
Hume said that if families are looking for a pet for Christmas, it’s better to adopt.
“Adopting is better than buying a pet,” Hume said. “You get an animal that already needs a home.”
