7 Veterans Day events to attend this week in Cy-Fair, Nov. 7-12

Veterans Day is Saturday, Nov. 11, and several Cy-Fair entities are planning events to celebrate throughout the week.

Nov. 7: Book signing with Vietnam War veteran

The local library hosts a book signing and presentation from Vietnam War veteran Samuel Axelrad for his memoir “Peaceful Bones.” The book chronicles his time as an army surgeon and his reunion with one special patient 46 years later. 4:30-6:30 p.m. Free. Nov. 8: Commissioner R. Jack Cagle’s Tribute to Veterans

  • Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program hosts veterans and their spouses to a free dinner and concert from the Texas A&M University Singing Cadets. Buses will depart from the following locations at 4:30: p.m.:
  • Copperfield Church, 8350 Hwy. 6, Houston
  • CHI St. Luke’s Hospital, 20170 Chasewood Park Drive, Houston
