$2M raised and counting: Motorcycle, camping and music festival kicks off

ROTHBURY, MI – The 29th annual Sandy Corley Memorial Run weekend will kick off today, July 20 at Double JJ Resort.

The popular event honors the late Sandy Corley who died from cancer in 1989. Corley was the owner of Sandy’s Harley-Davidson Sport Center and created the Fremont Michigan Chapter of Harley Owners in 1986.

All the funds from the event will go to the Johnson Family Center for Cancer Care. Over the last 28 years, the event has raised more than $ 2 million to help with the treatment of cancer victims.

The annual event features a motorcycle ride, rock music and camping at the Double JJ Resort.

Tickets for the event are $ 70 and include three nights of on-site camping, fireworks, ride-in bike show, field events, an auction, a self-guided tour through West Michigan and a Forgotten Eagles Beverage Tent.

Thursday will include a golf cart poker run from 3-6 p.m. with music from White Rabbit, Southern Rock Superstars and Winger. Friday will feature field events from 1-4 p.m. followed by the auction at 5 p.m. and music from Let There Be Rock, Wayland and Lita Ford.

The bike show will take place from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday. Musician Dave Bray will take the stage at 7 p.m. before the Military Salute at 7:30 p.m. Other music will include Vengeance Rising, Brian Howe and national act Skid Row.

  1. I dream of the day, I can afford one of my own. I miss riding. It’s he best feeling in the world. Outside of Sky diving. It’s hard to find a bike that fits me. I am 5’0″. Sixty inches to be exact. It’s not the weight I am concerned about it’s the hight of the bike.
