2016 Harley Davidson Road King – Test Ride Review

POV Test ride and review of the 2016 Harley Davidson Road King touring motorcycle. I ride the bike through the city and on the highway to see how it performs. I give my impressions in real time. 100% honest and unbiased reviews.

The Harley Davidson Road King features a 103 cu in V-Twin engine making around 104 ft-lb of torque. The bike weighs just over 800lbs wet which puts it on the heavier side but it still manages to handle well. Prices start at ,750 in the USA.

It looks like a cop bike lol. NDAA PROPAGANDA to get public to buy cop bikes so when they take them during drug raids they can just flip to a free cop bike. Really in reason Harley exist is through government fleet sales.

I have a '97 just like it including the color. Great Cruiser, I've had no problems out of it other than a few minor. H/D Road King really lets the good times roll…

The Twin-Cam engines are balance to high RPM, not low. That is why it is having more vibes in low RPM.

I just rode that same bike today. It does vibrate a bit on idle. Smooth once moving.

Why are you riding near the shoulder? I don't know much about motorcycles, but shouldn't you be riding in the center of the lane, just as with a car?

I have a 2016 RK I do not notice any vibration weird. Throttle is touchy I agree with that. I love the gear indicator. 2016 RK is a touring bike so it should ride smooth and it does. I took the back shifter off. It handles like a dream. It is heavy no doubt. You definitely have to man handle (sexist remark?) it. When you shift you will hear it. KLUNK. I do not like that much. I am a big guy so I need a big bike. No offense…it is a touring bike not a cruiser. Review is good though.

archinuk417 The heel – toe shifter is simple to use. You use your heel to upshift by pressing down with your heel. You use your toe part (underside of shoe) and step onto the toe shifter to put the bike into 1st. gear and also to downshift from a taller gear. I prefer it to using my toe for both up and down shifting.

I was looking into getting a Road King till I read about all the Cam Chain Tensioner Problems. Seems the new ones still use the same tensioners. Do a search for this and read all the complaints and about how HD does nothing to fix it.
