A 21-year-old motorcyclist died after he crashed into a car in Acadia Parish.

Brent Allen Miller, of Lafayette, on Friday was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on Louisiana Highway 95. At the same time, a woman who was northbound, turned her Chevrolet Suburban left onto General Lane in front of Miller, causing him to hit the Suburban, according to Louisiana State Police spokesperson Trooper First Class Thomas Gossen.

Miller was wearing a DOT-approved helmet but still suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The driver of the Suburban was not injured.

“Motorcycles are smaller than other vehicles and are more difficult to see,” Gossen said in a release. “Drivers are asked to pay attention behind the wheel and to always watch for motorcycles.”
