This video is the first in a series that will follow a restoration project of a 1951 Harley Davidson FL aka Panhead.
The date of this video is November 21st. 2015. As the project unfolds I will add more volumes to the series for your viewing. You can watch and learn either HOW TO or HOW NOT TO…..restore a project bike like this one.
The condition and value of this 1951 FL is a FAIR minus to a POOR plus considering all the aftermarket or non era correct parts and the fact that it’s a “non running” motorcycle at the time of purchase.
On the upside it has a clear Harley Davidson title showing 59,159 miles and I paid a total of 00 along with 0 to relocate the bike from Michigan to Ohio via U-haul. Personally I believe the bike in its current state is worth 00 but I was not going to let 0 stand in the way of a friendship and a long time dream (or lust) for owning and building my very own PANHEAD.
I have had at least one motorcycle in my possession ever since I was 13 years old. I purchased my first street bike, a Yamaha 650 Special when I was 18. I then bought my first Harley Davidson, a 1984 FXRP (which I still own) when I was 23 and haven’t stopped living the dream.
This is my first attempt at making a video for YouTube…..they can only get better…(I hope).
