— One person died Saturday as a result of a three-vehicle crash on state Route 219 near the Auglaize Mercer County Line, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Both a blue 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Jason Frey, 29, of Yorkshire, and a white 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Andrew Bohman, 25, of Maria Stein were traveling east on SR 219 in the left lane.
Frey struck the back of Bohman’s motorcycle, causing them both to be ejected.
Bohman’s motorcycle then fell to its side on the road while Frey’s motorcycle continued rolling east on SR 219, striking a Dodge pick-up truck, driven by Douglas Miller, 52, of Piqua that was also traveling east.
Frey was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bohman was transported to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, then flown to Lima Memorial Hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
Miller was not injured. He was wearing a seat belt during the time of incident.
Neither motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, and alcohol is being investigated as a factor in the crash.
