Harley rider and passenger critically injured in Kingsville

A man and a woman on a motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries when they were struck by an automobile in Kingsville on Sunday night, say Essex County OPP.

Provincial police said the collision happened around 6 p.m. at the intersection of North Talbot Road and County Road 27.

The Harley-Davidson motorcycle was being driven by a 57-year-old Lakeshore man. A 54-year-old Lakeshore woman was riding as a passenger behind him.

OPP are continuing investigate what happened, but the motorbike was hit by a brown Ford four-door sedan driven by a 22-year-old male from the community of Romney in Kent County.

Both people on the motorcycle suffered critical injuries and were rushed to hospital.

The Ford driver had injuries described as minor.

The intersection was closed for several hours as emergency responders dealt with the situation.
