Harley-Davidson planning 100 new models over the next 10 years

HARLEY-DAVIDSON plans to develop 100 new bikes over the next decade, with part of its future range consisting of electric bikes, according to Australian journalists.

The news comes from Australia publication Drive, which spoke to Bill Davidson, great grandson of Harley founder William Davidson and vice president of the Harley museum in Milwaukee, while he was in Sydney to celebrate a century of Harley-Davidson in Australia.

Talking to Drive, about H-D’s future, Mr Davdison spoke about the firms plan for electric bikes and talked about the Livewire project it demonstrated a few years ago, saying: ‘It is progressing and we will eventually introduce it.’

A range of electric motorcycle is part of Harley’s way of reaching a wider customer base outside of its usual demographic. Based on what Davidson has said , we can expect electric Harleys to become a core part of the manufacturer’s future strategy as it explores ways of diversifying its range and appeal.
